Got Questions?
What makes Atique Orthodontics different?
At Atique Orthodontics, Dr. Atique evaluates more than straight teeth. Her focus on airway health, facial growth, and functional patterns allows for a broader understanding of each patient’s development and may reveal concerns that are not readily noticeable.
By incorporating these findings into treatment planning—and collaborating with other medical and dental specialists when appropriate. Dr. Atique aims to support healthier breathing, balanced growth, long-term stability, and refined esthetics.
What does it mean that Dr. Atique is board-certified?
At what age should my child have their first orthodontic evaluation?
Dr. Atique welcomes children for evaluation as soon as a parent or healthcare provider notices a concern. Early assessment allows her to offer appropriate guidance—whether that involves monitoring, initiating treatment, or collaborating with other qualified medical or dental specialists when indicated.
This is particularly helpful when early signs of airway or growth concerns are present. Early guidance can support healthy development and, in some cases, reduce the need for more extensive treatment later.
Why does Dr. Atique focus on airway and facial development?
Breathing, facial growth, and oral function are interconnected elements of overall health. Dr. Atique’s approach includes evaluating these factors to better understand each patient’s developmental picture.
When airway- or growth-related concerns are identified early, timely guidance or collaboration with appropriate medical and dental specialists can support optimal development, contribute to improved sleep and breathing, and promote long-term stability and function.
This comprehensive perspective helps ensure that treatment supports both esthetics and overall well-being.

An orthodontic consultation at Atique Orthodontics is informative, and personalized.
During your visit, we will:
- Review medical and dental history

- Perform a clinical evaluation of teeth, bite, airway, and facial growth
- Discuss treatment options tailored to your needs
We take time to explain every step, so you feel informed and confident moving forward.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
The timeline depends on each patient’s needs.
Early-phase treatments may last only a few months, while comprehensive orthodontics typically ranges from 12–30 months.
Our staged approach ensures treatment at the right time for the best long-term results.
Do you treat adults as well as children?
Yes. At Atique Orthodontics, we provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages—from young children who may benefit from early guidance to adults seeking esthetic treatment or support for airway-related concerns. Our focus is on promoting proper function, long-term health, and confident smiles at every stage of life.
What is retention, and why is it important?
Retention refers to wearing retainers and receiving periodic monitoring to help preserve your treatment results. Because teeth can naturally shift over time, proper retention is essential to maintaining long-term stability, function, and esthetics.
At Atique Orthodontics, we continue to follow patients for at least one year after treatment, and longer when indicated, to help ensure lasting results.

Are X-rays or CBCT scans necessary?
Diagnostic imaging provides important information about tooth position, bone structure, and airway anatomy, and can also help identify other concerns that may not be visible during a clinical exam.
CBCT scans are recommended only when clinically appropriate, offering a more detailed view to support accurate diagnosis and thoughtful treatment planning.
Will my child definitely need treatment?
Not always. Some children only need observation and periodic growth checks. If treatment is recommended, we outline timing, goals, and options clearly.
Are clear aligners as effective as braces?
For many patients, yes. Clear aligners like Invisalign® can be highly effective when used properly. Some cases are better suited to braces; we help determine the most appropriate option.
What is MARPE/MSE and when is it recommended?
MARPE and MSE are specialized forms of palate expansion designed for older teens and adults. They can improve airway volume, correct crossbites, and improve arch width.
Is financing available?
Yes. We offer flexible payment options and will review these during the consultation.
Do you work with patients who have special healthcare needs?
How can adults benefit from treatment at Atique Orthodontics?
Adults can experience significant functional and esthetic benefits from orthodontic care. Treatment may help improve bite function, enhance smile appearance, support airway health, and contribute to greater long-term stability.
Options such as clear aligners and advanced appliance systems allow many adults to achieve meaningful results with minimal disruption to their daily routines. Whether addressing concerns for the first time or seeking improvement after prior treatment, adults can benefit from a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to orthodontic care.
